GSCYSA 2011/2012 Soccer Registration Information



Registration birthdate information:
U6 8/1/05 thru 7/31/07
U8 8/1/03 thru 7/31/05
U10 8/1/01 thru 7/31/03
U12 8/1/99 thru 7/31/01
U14 8/1/97 thru 7/31/99


  • Registration runs from May 25 thru June 30.
  • Players should be contacted by the third week of July.
  • Jerseys are provided for each player.
  • Players/Parents must provide:
    • Black shorts
    • Black soccer socks
    • Shin Guards
    • Soccer Cleats (plastic – without toe cleat)
    • Soccer ball – U-6 & U-8 size 3, U10 & U12 size 4, U-14 and up size 5
    • Water bottle at each practice and game
  • Players are not allowed to wear jewelry, including earrings of any kind.
  • U-6 and U-8 teams are all co-ed teams. Special requests for getting on a specific team are rarely accepted (siblings in the same age group will be placed on the same team).
  • Teams in U-10 and above are single gender teams and are formed strictly by a blind draw. No requests are honored (siblings will be placed on same team).
  • No refunds for registration will be provided after February 15th.
  • Players are not permitted to play on both Select and Recreational in the same season.
The administration of the soccer program is run entirely by volunteers. More volunteers are needed to continue running this program. Many positions require little or no soccer experience/knowledge. If you are willing to help support your child's program by volunteering please contact Mark Palmer at president@gscysa.com.

All parents are REQUIRED to participate/volunteer in the program in some way. Many times this is a one time per season assignment such as lining a field.

Volunteer positions:

Head Coach: Hold & direct all practices and preside over games
Assistant Coach: Help head coach with all practices and games
Phone Calls for Team: Make phone calls to families updating schedules, etc
Line Fields: Use the field liner to line fields that have already been laid out by field coordinator. This is done several times throughout the season and will not be the same person each time.
Help Lay Out Fields: Work with field coordinator to lay out field(s) at beginning of season.

Everyone is invited to attend the Soccer Association Board Meetings. Meetings are held at 7pm at Wilshire's in Canewood on the 2nd Monday of each month.
